Hikki Stikks - Classic

Hikki is the Finnish word for sweat.

A Hikki Stikk is a sauna/steamer sweat scraping tool for exfoliation, myofascial release and epidermal stimulation.
Its many curves fit all parts of the body,
and its a great back scratcher too!
Handmade (split, cut, planed, sanded, drilled and finished) from select hardwoods.

Hikki Stikks - Rustic

Rustic Hikki Stikks, like "classic" Hikki Stikks are sauna/steamer sweat scraping tools for exfoliation, myofascial release and epidermal stimulation.  Each is made from a curved branch and has a convex surface similar to that of a strigil (see History of the Hikki Stikk, below).

Yang Blades

Yang Blades are a smaller version of the Hikki Stikk.  They are useful in bathrooms and showers as well as  saunas and steamrooms.  Like Hikki Stikks, they are used as a sweat scraping tool that helps with exfoliation, myofascial release and epidermal stimulation in areas of the body, such as ears, nose, face hands and toes that are too small for a Hikki Stikk.

Hand made beauty

Hikki Stikks are  handmade from select hardwoods and sometimes pine.  While each Hikki Stikk is unique, they each have similar attributes that include an ergonomic handle, and chamfered hole for a hanging cord.  At the base of the Hikki Stikk is an extended knob that is useful for kneading sore muscles and tendons.  The blade of the Hikki Stikk is shaped into a double ogee curve that provides a variety of curvature radii to fit different parts of the body.  The blade is "sharpened" to a thickness of ~1/64" to ~1/16", providing an effective scraping edge without being  too sharp.  the end of the blade is an enlarged paddle to eliminate a point that could be a dangerous dueling dagger in the wrong hands.  Note:  Hikki Stikks are not intended to be a children's toy.

History of the Hikki Stikk

A predecessor of the Hikki Stikk is the ancient Strigil.

Strigil is a curved blade with a handle that was used to scrape off dirt, perspiration, and oil after bathing in ancient Greece and Rome. It was mainly used by male athletes, soldiers, and wealthy.

Hikki Stikks were inspired by a curved sweat scraper we found in a sauna made from a milk house, on a farm in Northern Minnesota.  We've refined the design to create beautiful, unique hand crafted tools for sauna and steam bath enthusiasts.
